This story is so bittersweet. As someone else said, getting older beats the alternative, although it doesn’t always feel like a process I’m excited about. My turning point was when I realized I wasn’t even going to try jumping off of things at the playground with my son — -my body doesn’t feel as solid as it once did. I’m trying to avoid snapped ankles and twisted backs.
